Vietnam is one of the most diverse nations on the globe, with 54 ethnic groups. There is 85.7 percent of Kinh/Viet, 1.8 percent Thai, 1.9 percent Tay, 1.5 percent of Khmer and Muong, 1.1 percent Nung, 1.2 percent Mong, 1 percent Hoa and 4.3 percent of other ethnicities. Vietnam has 81.8 percent of the population with no religious preferences, 7.9 percent following Buddhism, 6.6 percent Catholics, 1.7 percent Hoa Hao, 0.9 percent Protestant, 0.9 percent Cao Dai and 0.1 percent Muslims.
Vietnam Economy
Vietnam’s economy is based on Tourism, Agriculture, and Science and technology. Primarily wet rice cultivation and other agriculture are the basis of Vietnam’s economy. In central Vietnam, Aluminium production from Bauxite is primary. Farms, capital goods, and factories are part of central planning in Vietnam’s economy. Vietnam is a leading exporter of products of agriculture. With 1/3rds of the world’s share, Vietnam is the largest cashew nuts producer and largest black pepper producer. It is the 2nd largest rice exporter and coffee. Other exports are rubber, tea, and fisheries.
