Timor-Leste demographics
The people of this country are known as Timorese. Some of the people are also known as Maubere.
Tetum is the former official language of the country. Portuguese is also recorded as the secondary official language over here. There are various different languages in this country. The main religion that is observed in this country is Christianity. Mainly, 97% of this country are the followers of the Roman Catholic Church. The rest of the population is the followers of other religions.
This is a unitary semi-presidential country. The people of the country select the new president every five years through elections. The country has a prime minister. The prime minister has all the authority to control the government.
