Syria religion and politics
The majority of the population in Syria follows the Muslim faith. In that Sunnis are more predominant. There are also several Christian populations such as Armenian Catholics, Greek Orthodox, and Syriac Orthodox, etc. There are also small groups of the Jewish population.
Politics in Syria follows the framework of the semi-presidential republic. It is a multiparty system. The president of the country, Bashar al-Assad, is the leading force in politics. The human rights and the city were more outspoken at this period, which is called the Damascus spring.
Syria economy
The economy of Syria went downhill since the start of the civil war. The economic history of the country is full of instabilities. In the year 1963, the party Arab socialist Baath started to rule. They introduced land reform policies and socialist’s nationalization policies. Furthermore, in the year 1970, General Hafiz al-Assad came to power. Then the rules on the private enterprises went down. There was an economic crisis in Syria amidst various plans to stabilize the situation. The Syrian annual inflation is highest than the other countries in comparison.
