Sudan is a country in north-eastern Africa. It is Africa’s third-largest country and also the largest in the Arab. The official languages of the country are Arabic and English. Sudan religion and politics
97% of the population of Sudan follows Islam. There are two groups Sufi and Salafi. There are also Christian groups belonging to Coptic orthodox and Greek orthodox, who are some of the predominant denominations. The Ethiopian and Eritrean communities are present in Khartoum and eastern Sudan. Religious identity plays a huge part in the political divisions of the country.
The politics of Sudan follow the framework of the federal representative democratic. The legal system is based on the Sharia law of Islam. Stoning is a judicial punishment in the country.
Sudan economy
The economy of the country is growing steadily over the years. Oil is the major export in Sudan, with the production of oil high from the year 2000. Agriculture is also an important sector in Sudan. There is 80% of the workforce under it, but most of the people in Sudan are estimated to live below the poverty line.
