Guinea Bissau has ethnic diversity. 30 percent of the population are Fula, and 13 percent are Mandinka speaking. These two make the majority of the population in the Northeast and north. Papel is 3 percent and 30 percent Balanta in the South Coast region. Mancanha and Manjaco live on the north coast and central areas.
Guinea-Bissau’s official language is Portuguese. 2 percent of people speak it as the first language, and 33 percent of people speak as a second language. The national language is Creole. About 54 percent of people like a first language and around 52 percent of them as a second language. Native African languages are also spoken.

About 40 percent are Muslims, 15 percent Animists, 22 percent Christians, and 18 percent other faiths.
Politically, Guinea-Bissau is a republican country. The multi-party government was established in mid-1991. The prime minister is the government head, and the president is state head.

GDP per capita of the country is one of the lowest on the globe. Its Human Development Index is also low. Agriculture, groundnuts, fish and cashew nuts are the leading exports.
