Costa Rica has been economically stable with continuous growth and moderate inflation. Unemployment was 8.13% in 2018. There was a recession in Costa Rica in the year 1997 but it is improved a lot since then. The estimated GDP was expected to reach $61.5 billion in 2015. However, it had dropped down by 0.7% in 2016. Costa Rica has one of the highest standards of living in Central America despite the economic crisis.
