Chad religion and politics
The country is religiously diverse. Most of the population are Muslims, who are 55%. 22.5% of the people are catholic. 17.6% are Protestants. Some of the Muslim denominations are Sunni, Ahmadi, and Shia. There are small percentages of the population who still practice indigenous religion. Animism consists of an ancestor and place-focused religion. There are also members of Bahá’í and Jehovah’s witnesses present. They are considered to be the new religion in the country.
The country follows the framework of a presidential republic. The president is the head of the state and also the head of the government. Some of the major political parties are patriotic salvation movement, the national union for democracy and progress, Union for Renewal and democracy, National rally for democracy in Chad.

85% of the population depends on agriculture that consists of livestock. There is a lack of financing so the major developments are slow. The GDP is $28.62 billion as of 2017 estimation. The real growth rate is 3.1%. The GDP per capita is $2,300 as per the 2017 estimation. The population below the poverty line is 46.7%.
