Bahamas demographics
Though the Bahamas is not a huge country in size, it has several ethnic groups among the entire population. 92.7% of the population are Afro-Bahamian, 4.7% are European, 1.9% are American, and 2.1% belong to mixed ethnicity. The main official language of this country is English. Bahamians is also very popular as the local language.
Bahamas religion and politics
Christianity is mainly observed as the main religion in the Bahamas. 70% of the population are Protestants, 35% are Baptists, 14% are Catholic. There are also people from different religions, like Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and Baha’is. But these religions are minorities over here.
The Bahamas has a parliamentary Constitution, and the Queen of Bahamas is the chief of the parliament. The prime minister controls the government in the Bahamas. There is a two-party system noticed in this country, and people choose the ruling party by-elections.
Bahamas economy
Bahamas had a GDP of almost 13 billion dollars in 2018, which is the 148th highest across the world. The interesting part is that the Bahamas acquire most of the GDP from tourism. Almost 50% of the total GDP in the Bahamas is produced from the tourism business.
