Algeria Demographics
Ninety-one percent of the Algerian population lives around the Mediterranean coast. Urbanization is still in progress in the country. 24,182,736 million Algerian people live in urban areas. Its educational system is growing rapidly. Education is free up to the age of 16 years. An estimated 29.9% of the country’s population is under the age of 15.
Algeria Religion and Politics
Muslims dominate the religion in Algeria. Ninety-nine percent of people follow Sunni Islam. The remaining include Christians, Jews, Ahmadi Shia Muslims, and Ibadi Muslims. Islam is the religion of most of the Algerian people.
Algeria Economy
The country has a mixed economic system. Its currency is Algerian Dinar. The export trade in petroleum and natural gas has dominated its economy. Growth has occurred by recovering the oil and gas sector. Till 1962, it’s the economy. It was based on agriculture, but extraction and production of hydrocarbons have given rise to fast industrialization in the country. Algeria is also a member of League of Arab States (Arab League).
